The Future Is (Not) Unwritten (Sometimes)

Today I wanted to talk to me about something that's running through my head, rather delicate issue, because if, as they say, the first step to recover from an addiction is admitting you have a problem, well, 'I've already done, but no signs of improvement at all, indeed, if possible, worse to stay in it until recently always up to rimurginare. And I know, initially the idea was this, except that this morning, reading the setlist of the show yesterday in Des Moines that, and doing a few hours later, revealing a discovery, I decided to put for a while 'by my malaise and tell you about this discovery (given also that last night, talking to myself, I got at least a rational explanation at least in part of the affair, but that's another story, as they say).

When last week I was in Rome to give the last review of the first year, I have not failed to give me a ride in the Galleria Sordi Feltrinelli, of course uscendomene with something in hand, a blue-ray (of Gran Torino ), a DVD (Escape From Alcatraz, Escape From Alcatraz ) and a book (The Wanderers ). Initially, we had entered knowing that they must buy, in addition to Eastwood's film, The Wrestler also, which unfortunately I had to give up then for the price too high for Gran Torino, and because I absolutely need a book, because after reading Cell by Stephen King in the original the end of August I had a full immersion in the study that led me to not open more than a book for mid-September (and also because I lacked a fiction: I read three or four at once, and when I have one on the bedside table of entertainment Blinded by the Light , and a study Real World - pretend mica going to the States unprepared, no?). As I climbed the stairs to the furniture industry books, I took from his pocket a note that I always carry with me a list of movies to buy, to delete the two in my hand, look at the list known at the end of the package name of a book (and its author): Richard Price - life easy (and mica are an organized person, me! If I need anything - movies aside, I've learned to do so - the sign mica me, me!). Fortunately I have a good memory and associative quotazionale, I can quickly remember movies or books by reasoning or by rifermeno to specific things or situations, which is why I said to myself that I had already bought and read last fall and I put package in the back pocket of his jeans. In all this I came upstairs and I had reached the area that interested me at this point the question was what the heck to buy: King aside, I decided to read only in English now on, I was somewhat short of ideas. While I was wandering thoughtfully through the shelves looking for a cover or a title that I struck, suddenly I was reminded of Richard Price, but swapping it with Richard Ford, another author I greatly appreciated last fall thanks to The State Of Things . So, in short I tried believing Price star looking for Ford, obviously I had not yet recovered from the examination, my friends. I have looked over the coupon books "P" for a bit, 'until I just found this book, The Wanderers by Richard Price, written on the cover: "The other side of American Graffiti ... A perfect amalgamation of sex, violence and humor "piece of Rolling Stone review of American newspaper that I trust almost blindly, but in the end what got me convinced more than just the setting and the praise given by William S. Burroughs was this sentence: "Through a completely new translation, which allows for the first time to appreciate the richness of the dialogues of Price, the Italian reader can finally approach to a book-cult of contemporary American fiction."
So I bought the book and Saturday 's I started reading, page 33:

"'And now, ladies and gentlemen, please stand up for the national anthem' announced Eugene, attention to the stacked deck. A plan of crackling static introduced the voice of the belly of Dion.

Oh, I'm the type of guy who will never settle down,
Where the girls are pretty, well you know that I'm at aroun 'I
to kiss' em and I love 'em cause they're all the same to me I
to squeeze' em and I hug 'em, They do not even know my name
They call me the Wanderer, yeah the Wanderer I roam
aroun' aroun ' aroun '

After their theme, Eugene prepared a stack of 45 rpm, making for a quick two lenses. The party had begun. "

And here begins the surreal side, believe it or not. When I read the last two sentences of the verse (not being told the title of the song, but does not take much to get there, given that their gang called The Wanderers, and is said to be the official put their anthem) I stop a moment and think it would be was a good song for a chorus of Bruce Born To Run, then I remember that the story is set in the early sixties and step forward, at least intends to go on youtube to listen to, so just out of curiosity. But the thing in the end it slipped my mind, I did not sign and end up going in dmenticatoio of my brain, even though almost every time the characters of the book guys put on a disk or listen a song is something of Dior, to the point that many times I tell myself to go look for news about him.
Sunday I finally decide to put in place and record two bootleg I had already burned about a month and lay abandoned on my desk, along with a lot of other things, as usual. One of these was the New York Children's Health Project Benefit, show charity dating back to December 1987 by Paul Simon, one of the reasons why it was still there was the lack of an artwork suitable for: registration is a new source is not circulated before, and differs from the previous one as complete. To work around this problem I decided to put the cover of the (Yellow Dog license plate) and then write down the tracks on the back of the booklet front, and given that several tracks were guilty every time I looked at those records I had found something else to devote at least until Sunday. Now, to continue with the series "Incredible But True", if you go to comb through the list of guests that evening and their performances will find a nice surprise: number 8 Disc 1 (Yellow Dog) or number 13 Disc 1 of the new source, mr. Dion The Wanderer, a nice round of applause ladies and gentlemen.
therefore understand my surprise and my stunned expression when I read this morning
the lineup of yesterday's Des Moines : the 13th position, we find the "The Wanderer, originally recorded by Dion, for the first esecution EVER by the E Street Band .

That is to say certain things ... some things do not happen just by chance.

Latest News

here we go again, more than a month after the last post, talking about what happened in that while some (many) it was the holidays at the seaside or elsewhere , and someone stayed at home, that the holiday had already made (if you can call holiday).
All in all this is in August passed quickly for me, that I spent largely wasted on the couch watching Fox in the back is a lot of movies varied, ranging from To Have And Have Not (Howard Haws, 1944, the southern waters in Italian) to Made Of Honor (Paul Weiland, 2008, Made of Honor), through Serpico (Sidney Lumet, 1973), the time to realize that I was Springsteen's last trip back in a while , I found myself having to open the books for consideration of the September 15 and realize that, what with one thing and another, this strange summer was already turning terminated. And strange to say why, because one night when I could not sleep and I was staring at the ceiling I suddenly realized that my head was still an unspecified day in mid-May, 18, in which it is not something happened, eh, but somehow I remained printed in my memory.
Well, mentally I still have to go to Stockholm, for instance. And that is because the emotions were so many, and one after the other too, so there was no time to recover for good, before leaving again. I have yet to find the courage shalt recover the Lost In The Flood, or Fade Away in Stockholm. Not to mention the bootleg of Rome, Turin, Udine and Santiago. I tell myself that I am waiting to leave Crystal Cat but basically I know that my only fear: fear that they listen, I will return the same feelings of those days, and this brings me on the dangerous road of thinking "I wonder if there will be a next time "- which of course will be, but this, like all questions of life, is a bastard because you doubt creeps into mangy with which you are forced to live with. But never mind.
Turning to something else, like maybe someone will know, last Wednesday she married my uncle, or rather my brother increased, which has given me a new inspiration to reconsider my life the last year, when I made the decision to go to study in Rome, telling myself that I did much the state of affairs, in itself changed in recent years , would be inevitably and permanently changed from one year to that part, and this allowed me to decide a bit more lightly. It's not that I do not like change, mind you, but it is something that I accept only if it does not affect other people, and the system of relations that exists between them. I am very fond of my grandparents and Sunday dinners with them, and of course to my pseudo-big brother, and I knew that I would have seen in Rome andandomene less, and their last year in which things, to a certain extent, would continue to go in a way that it is worse to resettle at least three or four years now.
It's called growing, I know, but I've never been a guy who grows up, is very rock 'n' roll from that point of view. My Christmas gifts are still building Lego, dolls, movie or toy, at best puzzle. I'm not joking, eh. So you can understand that trauma has been for me this marriage. Now it is true, nothing will ever be. Now is the time to find a new stability for me.
What I then I was attacked also a rather 'romantic life in the sense that I like the happy ending at the end of human history, and every time this happens I can not help but think and move me once again that if you want, you may be able to remain innocent in this hard land . The last time I gave it to read the chapter on Jerry Lewis contained in the wonderful book by Peter Bogdanovich entitled Who The Hell's In It? (who's in that movie?), I had bought and started reading all excited that I had in March and then phased out in mid-May, when I got Bisceglie, a bit 'cause I was getting ready to travel Swedish (and my first concert tour, which implies a certain preparazioe), and a bit', actually, because despite the more than 700 pages that make up the volume did not want to finish it too early, so I like it. In short, having to stand all day with his leg stretched out after the accident a few weeks ago, these days I picked it up and I read it, though sparingly, a few chapters, including just one on Lewis.
do not know how you know it, and if you know it, but know that he and Dean Martin have teamed fixed premises and on American TV for ten years, from 1946 to 1956, and as popularity were on the level of Laurel & Hardy, just to let you know, in most of them were friends, good friends, despite the critics and the newspapers had only attention to Lewis. To divide until there have been no "mettimale the envious and the environment, were jealous of our relationship. Try to imagine all they can to make people mean, we did. What happened was that [...] someone had reported to Dean of the things that I would have said about him. I have never spoken ill of Dean, even during the period of the feud. I loved him. "
After the breakup of the couple, the two did not speak for 20 years, until at the annual MDA telethon organized by Jerry Lewis, Frank Sinatra, who led the evening with him at some point has not a surprise: Dean Martin. The embrace between the two is something very moving for the genuineness of the feelings, the relationship that had bound them for so long, the two comedians themselves. Scenes like this are good for your heart always, and especially when they come those moments when you think everything sucks, no one deserves your feelings, that the world goes to hell and so all the paraphernalia of invective that often already too crowded thoughts and words of many people. It has always bothered those who complain constantly about anything he happens: I also know that the current President of the Council is what it is, the Church's positions too conservative, that kids are increasingly addicted to mediocre TV there now, but this does not feel the need to repeat it like a record that after the restart from the last track before, simply because there is absolutely nothing to the contrary.
I like to look at the bright side of life, the side of honest, pure, sincere, because it is only then that I managed to get out of the darkness on the edge of town where I was living too long, and that was becoming the party with the majority of the shares of my soul.

Tonight the moon's looking young, but I'm feelin 'younger
' Neath a veil of dreams sweet blessings rain
Honey I can feel you first breeze of summer
And in your love I'm born again ...
