the brave heroes have given their best today, taking the slope of the Simplon and reaching just beyond of the border, more than half of the path to the pass (2005m asl). are now in Switzerland, the hot, hotel, enjoying a well earned rest - apparently out there are stalactites and snow (!) - but most are just 600m uphill from the highest point, which should svalicare tomorrow. thus overcoming the hardest part of the trip and their CIMA Cup!
(if you are not cycling, the top tiles, in the Tour of Italy, is the highest point of the path)
the climb was cold, long and devastating (and I quote).
